This post is LONG overdue! I love this family 🙂 They were so much fun to shoot! Beautiful faces and great personalities! We headed to the Courtney Bowl (soccer fields) first. This family spends a lot of time at a number of sports events! Then we headed to this bright blue building right outside of my base for some fun pictures! 🙂 That’s when this family really shined!
I think the theme of May is, “I wish I knew you earlier!” Summertime is PCS season here on Okinawa and at most military bases. I seem to meet a ton of awesome people right before they leave the island! It kinda shows you how long I’ve been here – 3.5 years this summer. Way too many awesome people that I’ve had to say goodbye to.
This particular couple, Kailie and Nate, go to my church (Koza Baptist Church), and they’re some of those awesome people! They asked me to take pictures at Cape Zanpa where Nate proposed. I had so much fun, except for the part where I got up on a wall to take pictures of the family on the edge of the cliff. Um, have I ever told you, I’M afraid of heights, but I’m even more afraid of people near high places. Plus, the doggies were getting SO close to the edge! I was freaking out!!! Anyway, I really enjoyed this shoot, and I hope you do too! 🙂
My most daring photo!
I am so behind on all of my blog posts. Ya know, life happens and for me it always happens all at once! I am getting myself in gear to update my blog and website. Hopefully, I can get it all done before we move back to the States! 🙂
Here are a few photos from Alex’s Senior photo shoot. Isn’t he a handsome young man? He’s headed off to college in the Fall, and I know there are great things waiting for him. We took these photos at a local bull-fighting ring and castle ruins park, right next to where I live! Pretty amazing, right?
I have a ton of favorite families, basically every family I meet is my favorite family 🙂 Here’s one of my most recent favorite families! We had our session a few weeks ago, and it was SO COLD! Everyone was a trooper, especially the kids…well except the little girl. She was so happy to run around without a sweater! These are a few of my favorite shots.
This has to be one of my favorite pictures that I’ve taken in my photography class. Our assignment was to take beautiful pictures, and then, using Photoshop, turn it into a black & white photo. You probably wouldn’t believe this, but this flower is a weed! Here in Okinawa, weeds grow like super-weeds. Overnight, our lawn could grow 3 inches just in weeds or flowers could bloom out of nothing! I suppose that is just the tropical nature of this island. Well, these flowers are my favorite little weedy flowers that I’ve seen! They’re a really pretty purple, but in black and white, they’re even more spectacular! 🙂
I also created a new watermark 🙂 Do you like it?!
Okay, so it’s been a really long time since I’ve posted ANYTHING! My hubby was about to leave for a bit, and it was so nice to take a break and spend some time with him. Then, the sadness/missing him syndrome kicked in, and I just didn’t want to be ON a computer. I wanted to be curled up with a blanket, reading. I still miss him like crazy, and it hasn’t even been a week! I can’t wait til next week when I find my routine again 🙂 plus I have some non-365 photos to share with you all!
Alright, here’s Mr. Chaos, my bulldog. He loves to sit like this, but mostly lay out, in the sun. It’s a rare sunny, breezy day for Okinawa, so he was taking it in! He also looks that way 85% of the time.
This Sunday I got to photograph a senior at the Sunabe Seawall here in Okinawa. That post will come this weekend, so stay tuned! I grabbed this picture because my friend pointed it out to me! I was busy taking photos of her son, and she hollered at me to look and get it! 🙂 Yay for my Photog Friends 🙂
I ❤ beach life. I spent 3 years at UC Santa Barbara, and those moments that I was able to enjoy it were amazing. I love taking in the sea life – humans and animals and environment alike. I think it’s from the way my parents raised me and my sister – always by the beach. It’s not surprising that my sister attends a college close to the beach. I’m way off track from this photo, but taking pictures by the ocean definitely rejuvenated me.
Earlier last week I was feeling pretty unhappy. Yesterday, I realized that I just needed to spend more time outside getting some fresh air! Thank God for the beautiful things for us to enjoy 🙂 Now if only this weather would cooperate, and stop raining on us!
I love Cherry Blossom Season in Okinawa. They are EVERYWHERE. This lovely tree was down a random road that bisects my shortcut to Kadena (the Air Force Base on Okinawa). I edited it with a HDR preset in Lightroom because I really like how it works with Okinawa scenery and animals. Enjoy a little snapshot into my current world.
