Project 365+1 :: Day 54 :: “New Camera”

I couldn’t resist!  I am so happy that I have this camera!  However, I am overwhelmed by the multitude of options and settings.  Can’t wait for Spring Break so I can spend some time with my new friend!

  1. I have this camera’s slightly less- qualified brother, haha. I love my D5000. It is my first DSLR and I love what I can do with it. I will eventually get something more high-tech, but for now this camera is awesome! I still have so much to learn on it.
    What are you using for your 365+1 prompts? I’m doing a 365 also, but I have been using monthly challenge prompts.

    • My first DSLR was a D60! It was a PAIN trying to manually focus my 50mm, and now I don’t have to worry about it! 🙂 The D7000 has a bazillion more features than my D60, so it’s going to be a really fun learning experience!

      I was using, but then I got too busy to follow all the prompts. I just took different pictures every day or so. Where are you getting your prompts from?? Maybe a themed month will help me next month, at least with creativity!

      • I too have been using capture your 365, as well as fat mum slim ( They both offer have some good prompts, but occasionally a prompt is just completely un-motivating for me. So, depending on my mood I will use one, or the other, or neither!
        I asked because it seemed that with your titles “experimental lighting” or “1st picture,” etc that you were following prompts, and they seemed like interesting prompts, so I wanted to play! But I see now that you were simply labeling what your post was about. duh!
        Actually, have you thought about making your own and offering them up on your blog? you seem to have a knack for it! 🙂
