Project 365 :: Day 20 :: “Lines”

Okay, so a design element to use are “lines.”  First thing that popped in my head was LIGHTS.  AND the lights that I was thinking about are the strings of lights that farmers here on Okinawa use over their crops.  I still have no idea what their purpose is, but I’m assuming either UV or warmth.  They aren’t always on a night (which is another goal of mine), however I do enjoy looking at them during the day too.  I get this happy feeling when I drive past them, sort of the feeling I used to get when I’d drive back to Santa Barbara from Temecula when I’d see that ocean.  Those views cause me to take in a deep breath and when I release, I’m happy 🙂

Project 365+1 :: Day 19 :: “Rule of Thirds”

This week for my photo class, we are working on design elements and compositional guidelines.  Here is a shot of my “rule of thirds” with my most willing and obedient model: Havoc 🙂

Project 365+1 :: Day 18 :: “Bull Fight!”

I got super lucky for this picture!  I was on my way to pick up my husband from Typhoon Motors (one of our on base car repair places) when I saw a bull, as I usually do on this road.  However, today it was LOOKING at the road.  FINALLY.  I stopped, got out, and started taking pictures.  Well, this older gentleman and child stopped and got out too.  The man tells me, “there will be a bull fight in 20minutes, at 2.  A practice fight.”  COOL.  I drove off to tell my husband, and then I came right back.  They were bringing in another bull, and he was HUGE!  The man tells me, “that bull is mine.”  NO WAY.  Anyhoo, he tells me he is about 800kg (converted to approx. 1764 lbs!) and should get to about 1000kg.

The fight was so awesome to watch.  They were pretty excited to get in it!  🙂  Here’s my favorite shot from the fight.
